Flavor Flav will receive The Clio Sports Impact Award at the 2026 Clio Sports Awards, Billboard reported on 21 October 2026. The award recognises his work to raise the visibility and investment behind women's teams.
The Clios are awards for creative work in advertising and marketing. Clio Sports, one of six specialist categories, was launched in 2014 to celebrate excellence in sports advertising and marketing. The ceremony is where the top sports campaigns and organisations are honoured.
Flavor Flav, the Public Enemy co-founder, has championed Team USA's female athletes at the 2024 Summer Olympics and the 2026 Winter Olympics. His support reached the women's water polo, bobsled and skeleton programmes. He also runs SHE Weekend, an initiative that connects female Olympians and Paralympians with fans and potential sponsors, meaning companies that might back an athlete's work.
Public Enemy, which he formed with Chuck D in 1985, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013, the group's first year of eligibility.
Two other honours were also announced for the ceremony. Michael Strahan will receive the Honorary Clio Sports Award for his influence across sports, media and popular culture. Kelley O'Hara will receive The Clio Sports Impact Award, presented by AT&T.
Pablo Torre will host the show, which takes place on Tuesday, 8 December 2026, at 5:30 pm. The venue is The Edison Ballroom, 240 West 47th Street, New York, NY 10036. Gold, Silver, Bronze and Shortlist winners are announced in mid-November, and the Grand Clio winners are revealed on the night.
Tickets cost $410 (US dollars) for individuals. Groups of five or more from the same organisation that buy together pay $360 per person. Sales open on 2 November 2026 and run until the show.
Earlier in the calendar, the 2026 Clio Creator Awards Ceremony is set for 18 November 2026 at 3:30 pm. The 2025 show followed a similar pattern, naming Grand Clio and Of the Year winners in the Agency, League, Team, Brand and Media Brand categories, along with its Honorary awards.
