Tyra Banks To Produce Film About the Inventors of the Jogbra

Tyra Banks is producing a film about the women who invented the Jogbra, the world's first sports bra. Deadline broke the project as an exclusive on 21 October 2026, and says Forbes Entertainment is a partner on it.
The film will follow inventors Lisa Lindahl, Polly Smith and Hinda Miller. Britt Brewer is writing the screenplay.
Banks will executive produce and produce through her company, SMiZE Productions, and she will also have a role in the film. The story is set in Vermont in the late 1970s. The Jogbra made its debut in 1977.
The project draws on a 2020 Forbes article by Maggie McGrath, titled "Women Supporting Women," about how the bra came to be. Forbes first profiled Banks in 2006, when she was known for two hit television shows.
Echo Lake Entertainment represents Banks, SMiZE Productions and Forbes Entertainment, and it led the packaging of the Jogbra project. Packaging is the trade term for lining up the core creative team, and often some cast, before a studio or other buyer commits money. The deal terms and any buyer have not been announced.
Next comes the hiring. Production will search for a director and cast the main roles. Neither has been named.
The Jogbra film follows another SMiZE Productions feature, recently announced, about Sally Hansen, the nail beauty brand founder. Taken together, the two projects show Banks's company working on biographical stories about business founders and product makers, a pattern that may continue, though no further titles have been announced.
For readers, the story is a reminder that many everyday products have a human origin story. The Jogbra was built by people who saw a gap in what was on sale. A film about them will take years to reach a screen, and the path from announcement to cinema or streaming is long. Any release date is still to be set.
