New South Wales Police are investigating a report of inappropriate content being shared in relation to Married at First Sight Australia, the reality show broadcast by Channel Nine. A force spokesperson said officers attached to the South Sydney Police Area Command began the investigation on Monday 24 August 2026. Following inquiries, the matter will be referred to Western Australia Police Force, according to BBC News.

Western Australia Police told the BBC that it had not yet received the referral from New South Wales Police.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that officers visited the show's Sydney set after a male contestant complained about alleged inappropriate sharing of personal material. News.com.au described the investigation as concerning a report of content shared during filming.

BBC News reported that the website TV Blackbox claimed a male cast member on the current series made a formal complaint to police after producers allegedly shared private information about him with his on-screen bride.

Channel Nine said it was aware of a police investigation involving the show's production company. It directed all inquiries about the investigation to Endemol Shine Australia, the company that makes the Australian version of the show. The British version of Married at First Sight is made by a different production company.

Police have not said what the content was or whether any charges are being considered.
