Andy Burnham is set to appear on Gogglebox, and he will be filming from 10 Downing Street. He is the first Prime Minister to take part in the Channel 4 show, according to Deadline.

Gogglebox follows real households as they sit on their sofas and react to the week's television. This edition is part of Stand Up To Cancer, a charity campaign. Burnham will appear alongside Steve Rotheram, the Mayor of Liverpool City Region, and the pair are scheduled to appear on Channel 4 at 9:05 p.m. GMT.

The two men are old friends. Rotheram told BBC Breakfast that Burnham would be a "brilliant" prime minister. Burnham moved into No 10 as Prime Minister in July, as The Guardian reported.

Other celebrities announced for the Stand Up To Cancer edition include the comedian Joe Lycett and the Sugababes. Political guests have a track record on the show. Jeremy Corbyn appeared on Gogglebox a decade ago, while he was Leader of the Opposition. Two years later, Stanley Johnson, father of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, took a turn on the sofa.

For viewers, the setting is the story. A fundraising special from the most famous address in British politics is not something the show has done before. It will be interesting to see how the format works when the sofa sits inside Downing Street.

Stand Up To Cancer raises money for cancer research, and the programme's main aim is to keep that appeal in front of audiences. Channel 4 is the broadcaster, so the airing time is the one to note for anyone planning to watch.
