India Hicks, the goddaughter of King Charles, has announced that her son Wesley is engaged to his girlfriend, Dylan Patterson. Hello! magazine reported the news on 22 October 2026.

Hicks is a fashion designer. On Instagram she describes herself as a humanitarian, designer and "mother of 5." She welcomed Dylan to the family in a post: "How happy we are to have you join our family, Dylan."

Wesley is 29 and works as a marine technician, which means he installs and repairs boats and the equipment on them. Dylan runs a travel club called Pink Palmetto. Hello reported that the couple began dating in July 2025.

Hicks and her husband, David Flint Wood, have five children: Felix, Amory, Conrad, Domino and Wesley. Wesley was adopted by the Hicks family in 2010, when he was 12, after his mother died of breast cancer.

Hicks's own family has a long royal connection. She is the daughter of Lady Pamela Hicks, who served as a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth II, a senior attendant who kept company with the monarch at court. Lady Pamela died on 5 June 2026 at the age of 97. Hicks announced her mother's death on social media.

Hicks has also spoken about her own health. In December 2025, People reported that she had revealed a diagnosis of a fast-moving skin cancer and had undergone surgery in Florida.

The engagement is the latest family milestone shared by Hicks.
