Braden Peters, a 20-year-old social media influencer known online as Clavicular, pleaded not guilty on Thursday to charges that he raped a 17-year-old girl at his family's home in Massachusetts, The Guardian reported.

The arraignment, a court hearing where charges are formally read and a plea is entered, took place at the courthouse in Orleans, Massachusetts. Peters faces two felony charges and one misdemeanor, a less serious criminal charge, according to CBS News.

He is accused of giving the girl alcohol until she was drunk and then sexually assaulting her when she visited him in Chatham, on Cape Cod, in May 2025. The woman told police that Peters had been paying her to appear in his "looksmaxxing" videos, referring to an online trend centred on improving one's appearance. She alleged that he gave her two or three shots of vodka, livestreamed himself kissing her while she was drunk, and that when she woke the next morning he was raping her.

Through his lawyers, Peters says the sexual encounter was consensual.

Peters agreed to $10,000 bail, an amount of money posted to secure release before trial. He also surrendered his passport and agreed not to contact or post about the woman who accused him.

The accuser is a Florida teenager. In April, she filed a civil lawsuit in Florida describing the alleged assault, according to WSOC. A civil lawsuit is a case brought by a private person seeking money or other remedies, rather than a criminal prosecution.

Peters's earlier run-ins with the law also took place in Florida this year. He was charged with misdemeanor battery after police said he provoked a fight between two women and posted video of it online, but that charge was later dropped. In a separate case, he was sentenced to probation after pleading no contest, a plea that does not admit guilt, to a charge that he fired a gun in public.

Peters has one million followers on Instagram.
