Dutton Ranch Season 2 Set to Start Filming in Early 2027

Dutton Ranch will return for a second season, and filming is set to begin in early 2027. Star Kelly Reilly revealed the timing at the Paramount UK Upfronts, where she made a surprise appearance, according to Deadline.
The upfronts are the yearly events where broadcasters and streaming services show advertisers what they have coming up. Paramount used the London-based presentation to pitch a slate of new and returning shows.
The renewal, meaning the decision to make more episodes, was announced while the first season was still airing. Two episodes of Season 1 remain to stream on Paramount+.
Dutton Ranch is a spin-off of Yellowstone, and it follows Beth Dutton as she starts afresh. Reilly plays the role alongside Annette Bening, Ed Harris and Cole Hauser. Reilly starred across all five seasons of Yellowstone, which wrapped in 2024.
The show has also found a large audience. Deadline reported that Dutton Ranch drew 12.9 million viewers worldwide in its first week.
The timing is not new. Reilly told The Hollywood Reporter in July that filming was slated to begin in early 2027, and the writers' room was due to restart shortly after that month. The upfront confirmed the same window.
The upfront also covered other Paramount+ titles. Kenneth Branagh and Peter Sarsgaard star in Laird, a drama from Jez Butterworth set in the modern Scottish Highlands. Samuel L. Jackson introduced a trailer for Frisco King by video link. David Beckham attended to promote Beckham & Friends, his Champions League series.
For viewers, the practical news is simple. Season 1 is still finishing its run, and the next season has a start date for production, though no air date has been given. Crews, writers and cast now have a clearer calendar for the months ahead.
