NBC has ordered a full 18-episode season of Line of Fire, its new drama about a family of federal agents. The show will now run into 2027.

A full-season order means the network has committed to a complete run of episodes, not a short batch that may or may not be extended. Variety reported that the first season was originally planned for 13 episodes before NBC expanded it to 18.

The show premiered on NBC on September 21, 2026. It airs Mondays at 10 p.m. Eastern on NBC, and the next day it streams on Peacock, the streaming service that carries NBC's programmes. Viewers can also watch episodes on NBC.com and the NBC App.

According to Variety, the series delivered NBC's best delayed-viewing lift in more than three years. Delayed viewing counts people who watch a show after its original broadcast, through recordings or streaming.

Peter Krause leads the cast, with Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O'Brien, Taylor Bloom and Charlie Barnett. NBC has also announced that Sam Waterston and Tyler Posey guest-star in the first season.

Joshua Safran created the series and writes it. He executive produces alongside Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector. Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group, produces the show.

The episode titles so far give a sense of the season's direction. Episode 3 is "There Are Two Wolves," listed for October 5. Episode 4, "Paper Trails," was listed for October 12. Episode 5, "Cul-de-Sac," was listed for October 19.

For the crew and cast, a full season means more weeks of work and a longer run on the schedule. For viewers, it means the story has room to keep going. NBC's listings show the show on Monday nights, and that slot is where the next episodes will appear.
