Chris Jericho will play Gorgeous George in The Greatest, the Prime Video series about the life of Muhammad Ali, according to Deadline, which reported the casting on 22 October 2026.

Jericho is a professional wrestler and the singer with the heavy metal band Fozzy. His character first appears in episode four of the series. Gorgeous George was a wrestler, and the role places Jericho inside the boxing and wrestling world that surrounds Ali's early career.

The show is a limited series, meaning it has a set number of episodes and is not planned as an ongoing show with new seasons. All eight episodes will be released on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. Amazon MGM Studios lists the same launch date on its press site and includes the series in its Featured Original Series lineup.

Jaalen Best leads the cast as Ali. Omari Hardwick plays Cassius "Cash" Clay Sr., and Dana Gourrier plays Odessa "Bird" Clay. Kai Parham plays Rudy Clay, and Amin Joseph plays Sonny Liston. Giovanni Ribisi plays Angelo Dundee, the trainer who worked with Ali for much of his career. Michael Ealy plays Malcolm X in a recurring role.

The Greatest was created by Ben Watkins. Deadline describes it as the first authorised scripted series about Ali's life, which means it is the first fictional drama about him that has been approved for release by those with the rights to his story.

For viewers, the practical point is the date. The full run of eight episodes lands in one go on 4 November, so there is no weekly wait between instalments. Jericho's episode four appearance will come after the first three have aired, if viewers watch in order.
