Two Managers Gone in 48 Hours as Norwich Look for a Way Out of Trouble

Two managers have left their clubs within the past 48 hours. Colin Kazim-Richards has gone from Crawley Town and Andy Woodman has left Bromley, according to BBC Sport. Woodman was the third longest-serving boss among the 92 clubs in the English Football League, the three divisions below the Premier League.
The bigger story for the weekend is at Norwich City, who are in the Championship, the second tier. Philippe Clement took charge at Carrow Road in November 2025. He inherited a side near the bottom and steered them up to ninth by the end of the season. Only four Championship teams collected more points than Norwich's 56 from that stretch.
This season has been harder. Norwich have lost five league games in a row and sit 21st, with nine points from 11 matches. Last season, at the same stage, they were one point and one place better off under Liam Manning. Manning was sacked after four straight defeats.
Clement is not panicking in public. He told BBC Radio Norfolk that there are still 35 games to play and that his job is to stay calm. After a 1-0 loss at Portsmouth, he also urged his players to keep their belief, as Yahoo Sport reported.
They have also lost a key attacker. Mohamed Toure scored five goals in seven league games before a shoulder injury ruled him out for several months. Without him, Norwich have to find goals from elsewhere.
Their next test is at Charlton Athletic on Saturday, with a 12:30 BST kick-off. Charlton have had a strange run. They won their first three games, then went eight matches without a win, with five draws and three defeats. They have not lost at The Valley this season, and they have conceded only two goals at home.
Cardiff City have a different kind of problem. Brian Barry-Murphy's side have won two of their last four league games, and those are their only two wins of the season. That leaves them 19th, three points clear of the relegation places, the bottom three spots that send clubs down a division. Their recent form includes a 5-1 win over Watford and a draw at Middlesbrough.
On Saturday, Cardiff host Birmingham City at 15:00 BST. Birmingham are in a far better mood. They have won three in a row and are unbeaten in five, which has lifted them to fourth. That is two points behind the top two places, which earn automatic promotion to the Premier League.
It is a busy weekend for a second tier that never stops moving. Clubs rarely wait long to act when results turn, and Norwich will be watched closely at Charlton.
