Foster + Partners Unveils Designs for World Trade Center Yerevan

Two skyscrapers linked by bridges are planned for Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. London-based architecture firm Foster + Partners revealed the designs for the World Trade Center Yerevan development on 19 October 2026, according to its news page.
The centrepiece is a pair of towers joined by three bridge elements. One tower will house offices. The other will contain apartments and a hotel. The bridges between them will be enclosed and will hold shared amenities for people in the buildings, including landscaped terraces, or outdoor garden spaces.
The towers will have glass facades on a concrete frame, the skeleton that holds the building up. Steel bracing, diagonal supports that stiffen the structure, runs through the design. The buildings will also have a split core, meaning the central shaft that carries lifts and stairs is divided rather than single.
The towers are angled to face several landmarks. From them, residents and workers will see the National Assembly of Armenia, the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Armenian Genocide Memorial and Mount Ararat, the mountain that stands near the city. The site sits in an area of Yerevan that architect Alexander Tamanian masterplanned in 1924.
Lifting the towers above ground frees up half of the site for other uses. Low buildings at the base will hold entertainment, hospitality and shopping spaces arranged around a public square. The central green axis of a nearby park will be extended into a route that leads to a podium at the foot of the skyscrapers.
Dezeen reported the details on 23 October 2026.
