Trump Says He Told Ramaswamy to Keep Running Attack Ad

Donald Trump told supporters at a rally in Iowa that he personally told Ohio Republican Vivek Ramaswamy to keep running a controversial attack ad. The ad features the mother of Ramaswamy's Democratic rival in the Ohio governor's race, Dr Amy Acton.
Acton's mother lost custody of her daughter when Acton was 12, after her husband was charged with raping the girl. The ad's use of that history has drawn criticism during the campaign.
Ashley Hinson, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Iowa, called the ad absolutely terrible and said it should be taken down.
Trump was also scheduled to travel to Florida on October 23 for a 2 p.m. rally in Fort Myers, according to Politico, to speak in support of Byron Donalds. Donalds is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives who is running for governor of Florida, the state's top elected office.
During the governor's race, Donalds removed mentions of Trump from his campaign website, The Guardian reported.
