Chappell Roan Closes Two-Night Benefit in Los Angeles With Guest Duets

Chappell Roan closed her two-night benefit concert, Super Graphic Spectacular, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 22, with a run of guest duets. Pitchfork reported the closing show. The two nights had been scheduled for October 21 and 22, according to Flood Magazine.
A benefit concert is a show staged to raise money for a cause. This one marked the first anniversary of the Midwest Princess Project, which supports young people from LGBTQ+ communities.
Caroline Polachek joined Roan for "Look at Me Now" at the closing show. During her headline set that night, Roan was also joined by PinkPantheress for "Tonight" and by Lola Young for "Picture You."
The guest list had been building for weeks. The Line of Best Fit had reported Roan's announced lineup, which included Lola Young and Caroline Polachek. Earlier listings also named MUNA and Tinashe as performers.
The surprise came on the first night. On Wednesday, October 21, Christina Aguilera made an appearance during Roan's first headline set. Variety reported that the two performed "Coffee" together at the benefit.
Roan had already shared a stage with a pop peer that month. The weekend before the benefit shows, she joined Charli XCX to perform "Boom Clap" at Kia Forum, also in Los Angeles.
For a two-night charity run, the pattern was clear: a headline set, then a visitor. Each guest got a single song, and the Shrine crowd got a different pairing on each night's bill. For the young people the Midwest Princess Project serves, the anniversary was the point of the evening.
