Sandra Hüller Joins the Cast of Avengers: Doomsday in a Cameo Role

German actor Sandra Hüller, who earned an Oscar nomination for Anatomy of a Fall, is part of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, The Hollywood Reporter reported on 23 October 2026. Her role is described as a cameo, a brief appearance in a much larger film.
Marvel has not commented on her involvement. According to the same report, Hüller's name had appeared on the British Stunt Register a couple of weeks before the story ran. The register is an industry listing of stunt performers, and its entries often hint at the scale of a scene.
The film is already well along. Anthony and Joe Russo are directing, and the picture is deep in post-production, the stage where editing, sound and visual effects are finished. Its opening is set for 18 December, placing it in one of the busiest weeks of the cinema calendar.
The story at the centre of the movie brings heroes from different timelines together to fight Doctor Doom. Robert Downey Jr. plays Doom, the armoured ruler of the fictional nation of Latveria. Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers, the character known as Captain America.
Marvel gave fans a look at the world of the film this year at San Diego Comic-Con, where it displayed colour-coded Latverian robes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Costumes like these are often the first physical clues a studio releases, long before a trailer or a poster.
For audiences, the news is mostly a reminder of how these films are built. A major studio release can bring in a stage actor or a film star for a few minutes on screen, and the decision is usually made months before the first public sighting. Until the film opens, the full list of names, and the reason each one is there, stays in the studio's hands.
