Catherine and William Share the Windsor Dais for Omani State Visit

Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Prince William stood together on the Royal Dais in Windsor during the State Visit of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, Hello Magazine reported on 24 October 2026.
A State Visit is the formal programme of ceremony that the Sovereign, the monarch, hosts for a visiting head of state. It usually includes a welcome, a procession, meetings and a state banquet. The Royal Family announced this visit by Sultan Haitham, and its website lists an engagement titled "The Sultan of Oman to Windsor Castle" dated 21 October 2026.
The formal welcome took place in Windsor on Tuesday 20 October. The State Banquet was held at Windsor Castle that same day, the first of three days of the visit. People reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales joined King Charles and Queen Camilla for the welcome at Windsor Castle.
Hello reported that Catherine arrived at the royal dais together with the King and Queen. The reason given was that the Sultan was not accompanied by his wife, so the Princess joined the King and Queen at the dais rather than standing with the Sultan's party. William travelled separately to welcome the Sultan at his London residence before reuniting with Catherine at the dais. He had also stepped in for his father to greet the Sultan during the visit.
Hello reported that Catherine performed a curtsy as the royal family welcomed the Sultan to the UK ahead of the banquet. A curtsy is a formal bow of the knee used when greeting royalty and other senior guests. She wore a yellow dress to the banquet, and the same outlet reported on it separately.
The Court Circular, the official daily record of the Royal Household's engagements, lists a visit by the Sultan on 22 October 2026 to Here East, the innovation centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London. That entry places the visit outside the Windsor programme, in the capital.
Catherine and William were married in 2011, and they celebrated 15 years of marriage in April 2026. They first met in 2001 as students at the University of St Andrews. The couple have three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
