Police search London for Anthony Lloyd after he forced his way out of a Lewisham health unit

Police in London are searching for Anthony Lloyd, 38, who forced his way out of a health unit in Lewisham, south-east London, shortly after 4pm on Friday 23 October 2026, the Metropolitan Police said. He was described as a prisoner who had absconded, meaning he left custody without permission.
The force said Lloyd was last seen at about 4.10pm that day, heading in the direction of Catford.
Lloyd was convicted in 2025 of actual bodily harm, a violent offence involving injury to another person, in connection with an incident in Nottinghamshire involving three emergency services workers. He received a 12-month custodial sentence, which is a prison term, for that conviction. In September, he was transferred to the Lewisham medical facility.
Police describe Lloyd as white, about 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, with short dark hair. When last seen, he was wearing a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley is leading the manhunt. Police said Lloyd could be anywhere in London and has links to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Merseyside.
Members of the public are told not to approach him. Anyone who sees him should call 999 immediately. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 999 and quote reference CAD4739/23Oct.
