Brighton & Hove Albion beat West Ham United 3-0 in the Women's Super League on Saturday, their second league win of the season.

The Women's Super League, or WSL, is England's top division for women's football. Brighton played the game at the Amex, their home stadium on the south coast, and they took control early.

Maisie Symonds opened the scoring with a 30-yard goal, a strike from well outside the penalty area. Brighton & Hove Albion's match centre lists her as the first scorer. Fran Kirby and Kiko Seike then added the other two goals, and the visitors could not find a way back.

The result was confirmed by Sky Sports, which published highlights of the match. Brighton head coach Arturo Ruiz and skipper Maisie Symonds, the team captain, both spoke about the win afterwards.

A clean sheet, three goals and three points is a simple story to tell. It also gives Brighton a result to build on at a stage of the season when every league game counts. Football fans know the feeling of a win that lifts a whole week, and this one will have done that for the club's supporters.

For West Ham, it was a afternoon to forget, and the squad now has time to regroup before its next fixture.
