Epsilon Film Takes Worldwide Rights to Animated Adventure Apple Cadabra

Epsilon Film has acquired worldwide rights to Apple Cadabra – I Shrunk Myself, an animated family adventure, Variety reported on 26 October 2026.
Worldwide rights mean the sales company can offer the film to cinemas and TV or streaming services in every country. Epsilon will handle that selling itself, starting at the American Film Market (AFM), the industry trade fair in Los Angeles that runs from 10 to 15 November. The fair is where sales companies show unfinished films to buyers from around the world, who then decide what reaches their own screens.
Buyers will get a first look at footage from the film at the market. Epsilon will be based at Suite No. 334 at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel.
The story follows two children who are magically shrunk into a miniature world. It is based on the Petronella Applesauce children's book series, which Variety describes as one of Germany's most successful. Epsilon's own website calls the books a bestselling series.
The film is directed by Ute von Münchow-Pohl and Felix Schichl. Claudio Winter and Seraina Nyikos wrote the screenplay, and Oliver Kurth designed the characters. Dirk Beinhold and Valentin Greulich are producing for Akkord Film, with co-production partners Seru Animation, PFX, VAST and JewelLabs Pictures.
In Germany, Tobis Film will distribute the film in cinemas. That leaves the distribution plans for other countries still to be announced.
Epsilon is a Berlin-based sales company. Screen Daily reported in February 2024 that it was launched by Julia Weber and Alice von Einem, both former Global Screen executives, together with the Beta Group. Global Screen is a sales company that was also based in Germany.
For a family film, the next checkpoint is November. Once buyers have seen the footage in Los Angeles, the deals they strike will show which countries the film reaches first.
