Chris Brown Due for Sentencing Over London Nightclub Affray

Chris Brown was due to be sentenced on 26 October 2026 at Southwark Crown Court in London, after pleading guilty to affray over an attack at a London nightclub. Affray is a public order offence, meaning violent fighting or disorder that could cause bystanders to fear for their safety.
The attack took place at Tape nightclub in 2023. The victim was Abraham Diaw. Prosecutors described the attack as "vicious and unprovoked," according to the BBC.
The case had a long run through the courts. In May 2025, Brown, now 37, appeared in court charged over an alleged bottle attack at the nightclub and was remanded in custody, meaning he was held until a later hearing. Later that month a London court freed him on £5m bail, a sum of money and conditions set to ensure a defendant returns to court. In July 2025 he pleaded not guilty to two charges relating to the alleged attack.
Brown changed his plea in July 2026. Reporting by Courthouse News said the guilty plea meant he avoided a trial in the UK. His bail conditions also allowed him to leave the country, according to the BBC.
Affray carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison. According to SGV Tribune, Brown avoided prison time for the brawl.
