Giorgio Armani has opened a flagship boutique at SKP Wuhan, a luxury shopping complex in the central Chinese city of Wuhan. Hu Ge, the brand's global ambassador, joined Jerry Yan, Yuan Quan and Yuan Hong at the celebration, according to WWD.

The boutique covers 6,800 square feet across three levels. The third floor houses an exhibition called 'Giorgio Armani: Geographies of Style', which runs until April.

The opening came after the WWD x SKP Global Fashion & Beauty Summit, held at the Marriott Wuchang hotel. WWD is the US trade publication Women's Wear Daily, and it co-hosted the summit with SKP.

At the event, Armani chief executive Giuseppe Marsocci announced a three-year partnership supporting China's Golden Rooster Awards, the country's national film awards. The 37th edition is scheduled to take place in Xiamen in mid-November.

Armani's official store directory lists two other stores in Wuhan. A Giorgio Armani store is at Wuhan International Plaza, No. 690 Jiefang Avenue, in the Qiao Kou District. An Emporio Armani Uomo store is at Wuhan SKP, Gongzheng Road, in the Wuchang district. Emporio Armani is the house's second line, and Uomo means men's.

For shoppers in Wuhan, the new boutique adds a larger Armani space to a city where the label already has stores. The exhibition gives visitors a reason to visit beyond shopping, and it will stay open until April.
