Advance voting for New Zealand's 2026 General Election opened on Monday 26 October. Elections New Zealand said election day is Saturday 7 November, and voting closes at 7pm that day.

The advance voting period runs until Friday 6 November. Voting places are open from 9.00am to 7.00pm, according to Elections New Zealand's key dates.

Reuters reported that 207 voting places were open on Monday 26 October. It also reported that more than 2,300 voting places will be open on election day.

New Zealand elects its Parliament using the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) voting system.

On the campaign trail, Green Party co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick spoke to media, as RNZ reported. The Green Party said in a statement that the Taxpayers' Union had brought a new low to the campaign with an attack ad that impersonates Green Party election advertisements. A post attributed to Swarbrick on the party's website, dated 26 October, also concerns that ad.

RNZ reported that billboard advertisements feature both Green co-leaders, Swarbrick and Marama Davidson.
