Greenwich Entertainment Acquires North American Rights to Big Break

Greenwich Entertainment has acquired North American rights to Big Break, the debut feature from New York sketch comedy group Simple Town, Deadline reported on 26 October 2026. North American rights cover the United States and Canada, so the deal decides how the film reaches cinemas in those two countries.
Greenwich plans to release the film in theatres across the country next year. Deadline describes Big Break as a comedic thriller, a film that mixes laughs with suspense. The story puts a group of friends at the centre of its plot.
The film is directed by Ian Faria, working from a script by Samuel Lanier, who also plays Sam in the cast. Will Niedmann plays Will, Caro Yost plays Caroline, and Felipe Di Poi Tamargo plays Felipe. Ivy Wolk and Jefferson White also appear.
Sarah Wilson, Ani Schroeter, Graham Mason, Richie Doyle and Conor Hannon produced the picture. Simple Town, the group behind it, was formed in 2016 and works in sketch comedy, short comic scenes built around quick characters and tight writing.
The film had its world premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival over the summer. Festivals are often where independent films first meet an audience and the buyers who might later bring them to cinemas or streaming services. A premiere can lead to a sale, though many films never find a buyer.
Greenwich's Jasper Basch negotiated the acquisition. CAA Media Finance represented the filmmakers in the talks. Deadline reported the deal as an exclusive, meaning no other outlet had it first.
The report did not include a release date or financial terms for the deal, so the next public step will be the studio's announcement of when Big Break opens.
