Skydance is asking its whole company to work in the office five days a week. Co-chief executives David Ellison and Ynon Kreitz announced the policy in a memo that Deadline obtained.

The rule covers staff at Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery who now work under the Skydance umbrella. It will not start everywhere at once. Skydance plans a phased rollout, with timing set by location.

The co-CEOs wrote that they had seen the benefits of in-office work first-hand at Paramount, according to the same memo. Paramount began its own five-day expectation in January 2026, after David Ellison first told staff in September 2025 that the change was coming. Hollywood Reporter reported in January that Ellison had praised staff for the return.

Skydance is also offering a Voluntary Buyout (VBO) Program. A buyout is a payment that lets an employee leave a job, and this one is open only to eligible employees who choose to take it. The program sits alongside the office rule, which gives staff a clear choice in a tight period.

That choice has happened before. Paramount said in November 2025 that about 600 staffers took buyouts after its return-to-office mandate, as Deadline reported at the time.

The scale of the company has changed quickly. Bloomberg reported on 6 October 2026 that Paramount Skydance had closed its $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. That same week, Deadline reported that Skydance carries about $80 billion in debt and has promised to cut $6 billion in costs.

Office space, desks and daily routines are now part of that cost picture, and the new rule touches every team the merger has pulled in. Staff who move between studios will feel it first, because they will be asked to be in one building, on most days, for the first time in their careers.

What comes next is a set of location-by-location start dates. Anyone working across the Paramount, Warner Bros. and Skydance teams will see those dates land in the coming weeks and months.
