Indio Downey Cast in Lead of Addiction Drama Love In Vein

Indio Downey has landed his first leading film role, playing Damien in the addiction drama Love In Vein, according to Deadline. Downey, 33, is the eldest of Robert Downey Jr.'s three children. He has appeared before in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but Damien is the first time he has been placed at the centre of a film.
The project is written and directed by Will De Los Santos. It is adapted from Wasting Talent, a novel by Ryan Leone. Filmink reported that Leone has died. The book is now the source material for a film that will be made without him.
Muse Productions is producing in association with ArtHouse Gooning. Chris Hanley will produce alongside Orson Oblowitz, Tricia van Klaveren and Ben D. Wallace. Hanley's credits include American Psycho, Spring Breakers and The Virgin Suicides. He has also produced Two Girls and a Guy, which starred Robert Downey Jr.
The money comes from Jeffrey Gliwa, who is financing the film through Blue Shark Pictures. Gliwa is also an executive producer, a credit usually given to the person who brings the money and the deal together rather than the one running the set day to day.
Filming, known in the industry as principal photography, is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles in March and April 2027. That gives the production about five months from the cast announcement to the start of the main shoot.
For now, the news is a cast and a crew, a shooting window, and a lead actor taking his first step into a leading role.
