The NFL has announced that rapper Jay-Z will headline the halftime show at Super Bowl LXI, scheduled for Sunday, February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, according to the league's announcement. The Super Bowl is the championship game of American football, and the halftime show is the musical performance held during the break in play.

The announcement was also reported by the BBC, which noted that Jay-Z has not previously performed himself at the championship game.

Jay-Z's company, Roc Nation, has produced the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019. Jay-Z plays a key role in choosing each year's performer, and the BBC reported that the NFL's announcement did not specify whether he would be the only headliner.

The New York Post reported that Jay-Z had chosen himself for the Super Bowl LXI halftime show. Yahoo Sports reported that the Roc Nation arrangement for the halftime show reportedly pays $5 million per year.

The two most recent halftime performers were Bad Bunny, who performed at the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on February 8, 2026, airing on NBC, and Kendrick Lamar, who was announced for the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show on February 9, 2025, on FOX. Rihanna headlined the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 12, 2023, also on FOX.

Roc Nation is led by chief executive Desiree Perez.
