Capital One will be the first presenting sponsor of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, the Hall has confirmed. Billboard reported that the arrangement is a first for the event and its broadcast in the ceremony's 43-year history.

A presenting sponsor is the company whose name leads the event and its television show, in return for backing the production. Hall of Fame Foundation chairman John Sykes welcomed the US banking company as a partner in efforts to bring the annual celebration to fans everywhere.

The 2026 ceremony takes place on Saturday, Nov. 14, in Los Angeles. The broadcast premieres on ABC on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Disney+ and Hulu carry it the next day, Wednesday, Dec. 9.

The Hall has named eight Performer inductees: Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan. Performers are the artists and groups inducted for their recordings and live work.

Three other awards are also being handed out. The Musical Influence Award goes to Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Gram Parsons. The Musical Excellence Award, which recognises behind-the-scenes figures such as producers and songwriters, goes to Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller and Rick Rubin. The Ahmet Ertegun Award, which honours people outside the performing ranks, goes to Ed Sullivan.

The list runs across rock, pop, soul, hip-hop, salsa and Afrobeat, and it spans artists who began recording in the 1950s and 1960s through to acts from the 1980s and 1990s. Fans who follow one corner of the list will find names from other corners too.

For the people who put the show together, a sponsor can matter in practical ways. Ceremonies of this size involve stagehands, crews, travel and production budgets, and a named backer helps cover those costs.

The ceremony is now about three weeks away. The Los Angeles event on Nov. 14 is the one inducted artists will attend, and the ABC broadcast on Dec. 8 is the one most viewers will watch.
