Cousins Wrap Shoot on Feature Version of Dirty Towel

Cousin filmmakers Callie Carpinteri and Emma Parks have finished shooting Dirty Towel, a feature film built out of a short they made together. Deadline broke the news on 27 October as an exclusive.
The feature is an expansion of the short of the same name, which premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Festival, a New York event where filmmakers show new work to audiences and buyers. Carpinteri directs. It is her feature directorial debut, the first full-length film she has led from the director's chair. She and Parks co-wrote the script and produced the film together.
Filming took place in the Chicago area. "Wrap" is the industry word for the end of the shoot, the point where the last scene is recorded and the cast and crew go home. After that, the footage moves into editing, where the film is cut, sound is mixed and the final version takes shape.
Parks also stars. She is joined by Kristen Connolly, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Conor Sherry, Sandrine Holt and Lesley Ann Warren. Parks describes herself as a Los Angeles-based actress and writer, and her website lists her role in the feature The Short Game among her credits.
Family collaborations of this kind are common in independent film, where a small team often relies on people it already trusts. Two cousins writing, producing and starring in a project that began as a short is a familiar route for new filmmakers. Carpinteri and Parks have now moved that idea from a few days of shooting to a full-length feature.
No release date or distributor has been announced. The next public steps for a film at this stage are usually post-production updates, festival submissions or a sales agent taking on the title. Any of those would be the next thing to watch.
