Hum Announce 2027 Tour, Their First Full Run Since 2015

Illinois shoegaze band Hum have announced a 2027 tour, their first proper run since 2015, Pitchfork reported on 27 October 2026. Shoegaze is a guitar-heavy style with hazy, layered sound, where the vocals often sit low in the mix.
The tour opens on 3 March 2027 at The Eastern in Atlanta, Georgia, and closes on 17 July 2027 at The Warfield in San Francisco, California. The Life and Times, a band from Kansas City, will support on every date. Pelican, a Chicago post-metal band, open the East Coast dates, and Spotlights, a trio from Brooklyn, open the West Coast dates.
The schedule, as listed by the band's tour announcement:
- March: Atlanta (3 March, The Eastern), Houston (5 March, House of Blues), Dallas (6 March, The Bomb Factory), Austin (7 March, United Heritage Hall)
- April: Denver (22 April, Mission Ballroom), Kansas City (24 April, The Midland Theatre)
- May: Philadelphia (20 May, Franklin Music Hall), Washington, D.C. (21 May, The Anthem), New York (22 May, Terminal 5), Boston (23 May, Roadrunner), with Pelican on the East Coast leg
- July: Seattle (13 July, Showbox SoDo), San Francisco (17 July, The Warfield), with Spotlights on the West Coast leg
The run follows a busy stretch for the band this year. Earlier in 2026, Hum headlined sets at Slide Away, a travelling shoegaze festival, alongside Chapterhouse and Nothing. Those shows were their first in nearly seven years, and the first time they played songs from their 2020 album Inlet on stage.
Inlet ended a long quiet period. Before it, Hum had not released a record since 1997's Downward Is Heavenward. Their debut album was You'd Prefer An Astronaut, from 1995.
The lineup needs a note. Original drummer Bryan St. Pere died in 2021. Jason Gerken, who drummed for Hum on their 2015 tour and at Slide Away, will play drums on the forthcoming dates.
For fans, the practical details are the dates and venues above. Anyone planning to go should check each venue's listing for ticket information closer to the shows.
