The Royal Family has shared a photo of a toy giraffe in the cockpit of the aircraft that carried The King to the Caribbean.

The picture was posted on the Royal Family's official Instagram account. It shows a pilot at the controls, surrounded by switches, screens and instruments. Sitting among the flight crew is Geoffrey the Giraffe, a soft toy who travels with the royal party.

The photo was shared as The King flew from London to Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, to begin a nine-day tour of the Caribbean. The tour started in the Bahamas on Tuesday 27 October 2026. It will continue in Guyana and end in Antigua and Barbuda. Queen Camilla will join The King in Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, a gathering of leaders from the Commonwealth, the association of countries that were once part of the British Empire.

Geoffrey has a longer story than the cockpit photo suggests. He was the favourite toy of Louise Conway, who died on 9 February 2013. Geoffrey's travels help raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, which supports the London hospital that treats children from across the country.

According to Royal Central, Geoffrey goes wherever he travels to keep Louise's memory alive. He also draws attention to the children and families who receive care at the hospital.

The tour is part of a wider programme. The King and Queen's Autumn Tour was first announced for 27 October to 4 November 2026. The Royal Family's social media posts have often included small details from trips like this one, from the people met along the way to the places visited.

For many readers, the moment is simple: a familiar toy in a place most people never see. The cockpit is usually a closed room, and this photo gives a rare look at the instruments that guide a long-haul flight. Geoffrey's presence also points back to the charity work that his story has carried for more than a decade.
