Apple’s “Pro and tell” launch event was scheduled to begin at 1PM ET, or 10AM PT, on October 28, 2026, in Los Angeles, according to The Verge and Reuters.

The event closes a run of hardware announcements spread over several weeks. Apple debuted the HomeView, which it describes as its first smart display, a couple of weeks before the event. A little over a month earlier, it announced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable. Apple’s newsroom says the Duo reached Apple Store locations worldwide on October 23, and that developers brought new app experiences to the device, as reported on October 22.

The Mac and iPad refreshes arrived in the final days before the event. On Monday, October 26, Apple announced an updated iPad mini with a larger OLED display. OLED panels give each pixel its own light source, which allows true black and high contrast. On Tuesday, October 27, Apple refreshed the iMac with an M6 chip and gave the entry-level MacBook Pro an M6 processor upgrade, according to The Verge.

Apple’s event page lists the iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5 as announced products. The page describes the iPhone Duo as having the largest iPhone display Apple has produced, and as foldable, posable and standable. The iPhone 18 Pro is described as having the longest battery life in an iPhone and a new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, meaning the lens opening can widen or narrow to admit more or less light. Apple Watch Series 12 carries an all-new Health Sensing System for heart rate sensing and HRV readings, where HRV (heart rate variability) is the variation in timing between successive heartbeats. Apple Watch Ultra 4 is rated for up to 45 hours of Max Extended Workout tracking. AirPods 5 offer up to 1.5x more Active Noise Cancellation than the previous generation. Apple states that video replay of the event will be available shortly.

Before the event, Bloomberg News reported that the October 28 event was expected to feature the company’s first touch-screen MacBook Pro, as Reuters noted on October 19. An Engadget preview published on October 20 pointed to Mac and iPad announcements as the core expectation.

On the software and services side, Apple’s newsroom says Apple Creator Studio adds new AI features and creative tools, and that Siri AI is now available in more languages. On October 20, Apple also unveiled the 2026 Designers of Tomorrow and named American Manufacturing Program partners for its latest iPhone lineup. The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix streamed live on Apple TV during the weekend of October 22. An “In the Loop” update on Apple’s newsroom states that its Austin teams were ready for the race, with art, music, community, and something special for customers in India.

The event is also Apple’s first major hardware presentation about two months after John Ternus took over as CEO on September 1, according to The Verge.

The broader context here is the breadth of the calendar. A foldable phone, a smart display, a larger-screen iPad mini, two Mac refreshes, and a set of wearables and audio products land within roughly one season. For developers, the open question is how quickly apps for the iPhone Duo and HomeView use their display geometry instead of simply scaling existing layouts. For buyers, the Watch and AirPods changes are incremental on paper, and the iPhone 18 Pro battery and camera figures will be tested in everyday use.

In my view, the most useful thing to watch in the coming weeks is whether the posable and standable form factor of the iPhone Duo produces interaction patterns that third-party apps adopt, because that is where new hardware usually earns its place.
