Jennifer Lawrence Says She 'Came Down Hard' on Unapproved Crew During a Nude Scene

Jennifer Lawrence says she "came down hard" on crew members who were not approved to be on set while she was filming a nude scene. She described the episode in an interview with Alex Cooper, host of the podcast Call Her Daddy, as The Hollywood Reporter reported on Wednesday, 28 October 2026.
Lawrence said that people on set who had not been cleared for the scene were present while she was undressed. She told Cooper she explained to them why that was "not okay."
For Lawrence, the moment was about more than one shoot. She said she spoke up to set a principle that would protect younger actresses. She pointed to an 18-year-old she knew of who, she said, feared being labelled difficult if she raised a similar concern. Page Six also reported on 28 October that Lawrence gave this as her reason for taking a firm line with the crew.
Who decides who is on a film set? In most productions, a short list of people is approved for scenes that involve nudity or simulated sex. Those people are usually the actors, the director, and a small team, often including an intimacy coordinator, who is a specialist hired to plan such scenes with the performers and keep the set to an agreed group. Lawrence's account suggests that list was not followed on the day she describes.
The same interview also touched on happier territory. Lawrence described her reunion with the cast of The Hunger Games as "beautiful," according to The News, which published its report on the same day.
No response from the production has been reported so far. The story is worth following as a reminder that a set's rules about who may be present during intimate scenes are set by people, usually in advance, and that performers can find it hard to speak up while a shoot is underway.
