Jesse Sisgold Leaves Skydance Sports for Advisory Role at RedBird Capital

Jesse Sisgold is stepping down as head of Skydance Sports Entertainment and moving to an advisory role at RedBird Capital, the investment firm. Deadline reported the move on 28 October 2026.
At RedBird, Sisgold will serve as a senior advisor across the firm's media and sports holdings. An advisor gives guidance to the businesses a firm owns. He does not run them day to day.
David Ellison, who leads Skydance, first disclosed the move in a staff memo. Sisgold joined Skydance in 2014 and went on to serve as its president and chief operating officer. The sports division was previously known as Paramount Sports Entertainment, and he served as its chairman.
The Hollywood Reporter reported in September 2025 that Paramount had launched the sports division under his leadership. The division took on the Skydance name after the companies combined.
RedBird is closely tied to Skydance. RedBird's chief executive, Gerry Cardinale, sits on the Skydance board. RedBird also took part in a strategic investment in Skydance Media in 2020. Deadline reports that Cardinale was a primary architect of the $110 billion merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery.
The move also comes as Skydance reorganises its television business. Skydance TV Studios now houses Warner Bros. Television Group, CBS Studios and Paramount Television Studios. Channing Dungey runs Warner Bros. Television Group, David Stapf runs CBS Studios, and Matt Thunell runs Paramount Television Studios. George Cheeks is Skydance TV co-chair and chief content officer.
For viewers, the change sits behind the screen. The studios keep making the shows, and the people running them are the ones named above.
