Pauline Hanson has accused Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of secretly offering an extra staff member to One Nation MP David Farley, a move she said was an attempt to "exert undue political influence" over politicians. Farley rejected the offer, which Hanson described as "unsolicited."

Farley is the member of parliament for the New South Wales electorate of Farrer. According to The Guardian, a letter authorising him to hire another staff member was hand-delivered to his office at Parliament House in Canberra on Monday by a member of the prime minister's team. The additional staffer was described as an adviser position.

Hanson said the adviser would cost taxpayers as much as $200,000 in additional salary. She said Farley had not asked for the extra staff allocation, and that the prime minister gave no reason for it. Hanson also said Albanese and Farley had met privately over the past few weeks, in meetings the prime minister initiated.

The allegations were reported on October 29, 2026, in outlets including the Australian Financial Review and the Sydney Morning Herald. The ABC reported that Farley turned down the extra staffer.
