Valkyries Can Win First WNBA Title in Game 6 on Thursday

The Golden State Valkyries can win their first WNBA championship on Thursday, Oct. 29, when they play the Atlanta Dream in Game 6 of the 2026 WNBA Finals. Golden State leads the best-of-seven series 3-2. The first team to four wins takes the title, so one more Golden State win would finish it.
The series started on Oct. 17. Both teams reached the Finals on the same Friday, Oct. 10. Atlanta got there with a sweep, winning every game of its semifinal round.
Golden State won Game 5 on Oct. 26, beating the Dream 64-55. Valkyries team said the Valkyries held Atlanta to 55 points on 29.2% shooting, the lowest-scoring output of the Dream's season. The Valkyries began play in 2025, so a title this week would come one year after their first season.
Game 6 will be played at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, the same arena that hosted Games 3 and 4. Golden State moved its home-court advantage to the road for this game, as the Valkyries' schedule change notice set out. Tip-off is 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time, which is 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Fans can watch in several ways. The Hollywood Reporter reports that USA Network carries the game live, with simulcasts on E! and Syfy, and that Peacock streams it. ESPN also lists CNBC as a broadcaster for the game.
If the series needs a seventh game, it would be played in Golden State, according to ESPN. That would be the decisive game of the series.
For the players and staff, the schedule has been a long one. Finals games are played over several weeks, with travel between cities and time away from home. For the people watching, Game 6 is a single afternoon, with a title on the line.
