Registration Opens for the 2027 Latin Alternative Music Conference
Registration is open for the 2027 Latin Alternative Music Conference, which will run from July 6 to July 10 at the Intercontinental New York Times Square in New York City, according to Billboard.
The event, known as LAMC, is a five-day gathering for people who work in Latin alternative music. This year's edition marks its 28th anniversary. The conference was founded by Tomas Cookman, and its official tagline reads, "What was once the alternative is now the mainstream."
The programme mixes learning and playing. Attendees can expect panels, workshops, showcases, networking opportunities and live music. Past editions have featured Julieta Venegas, Trueno, Milo J, La India and Luck Ra, and that list shows how wide the conference's reach has become.
Pricing rises in stages, so the earlier a person signs up, the less they pay. A pass costs $99 until December 7. From December 8 through May 28 it costs $199. From May 29 through July 8 the price is $299. All figures are in US dollars.
Anyone who wants to see what the conference looks like before committing can use the official website, latinalternative.com. The site offers sizzle reels, which are short promotional videos, and recordings of panels, workshops and showcases from earlier years. Archive sections cover the 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions.
The full 2027 schedule is not yet published. The conference's schedule page says it is "coming soon," so the dates for individual sessions and performers are still to be announced. Those interested can check the registration page on latinalternative.com for updates.
For a music business event, the appeal is partly in the mix of people. Artists, label staff, booking agents and other industry workers all attend the same sessions and showcases, and the networking time is built into the schedule. That mix is the main thing LAMC offers, and the 2027 dates give those who plan to attend a clear window to prepare.
