Paula Reid is joining MS NOW as its chief White House reporter, and her first day is Thursday. The start date comes from a memo sent by Sudeep Reddy, the network's Washington bureau chief, as Variety reported on October 29, 2026.

Reid leaves CNN, where she was chief legal affairs correspondent. In that job she covered the Justice Department, major federal investigations and the Supreme Court. Before CNN she spent more than a decade at CBS News, first on investigative and justice reporting teams and later covering the Justice Department before she became a White House correspondent.

Her move has been in the works for some months. In July, Deadline reported that she was expected to leave CNN for MS NOW. She joins the network nearly four months after her exit from CNN, and the arrival is now confirmed.

At MS NOW, Reid will be part of the White House unit led by Scott Foster. The network is also building its roster in other ways. Peter Alexander, Eugene Daniels and David Rohde, all experienced journalists, have also joined MS NOW.

The network is run by Rebecca Kutler, who is president of MS NOW. Earlier this year, Variety reported that Kutler had put new emphasis on enterprise reporting. That term means original stories a newsroom digs out itself, rather than news that is already breaking elsewhere.

For viewers, the change is a new face on the White House beat. The job is the one that keeps the network's audience updated on the president's day-to-day moves and the decisions made in the West Wing. Reid's first on-air work for MS NOW will show how she handles the role in its new setting.
