Andy Haldane scores John Healey's Budget 4 out of 10

Andy Haldane, a former chief economist at the Bank of England, the UK's central bank, has scored John Healey's Budget 4 out of 10. He gave his view in an interview for Political Thinking with Nick Robinson, a BBC programme. Mr Haldane was also a former adviser to Andy Burnham.
Chancellor John Healey delivered his first Budget to Parliament on Wednesday 28 October, setting out Labour's tax and spending plans. In his Budget speech, Mr Healey described it as "a Budget for the working people of Britain", according to the government's published text.
Before the Budget, the Telegraph identified debt, inflation, interest costs and high borrowing as four economic challenges the Chancellor would have to address, according to its analysis.
Earlier in October, a former Bank of England chief economist had warned that the UK was "on thin ice" ahead of the Autumn Budget, CNBC reported.
