LISA Says She Was Nervous Ahead of Her Las Vegas Residency

LISA, the South Korean singer best known as a member of the group BLACKPINK, starts a six-show residency in Las Vegas on Nov. 12. She talked about the run, and about her nerves, on the podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane, according to Billboard, which published its report on Oct. 29.

The residency, called VIVA LA LISA, takes place at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. A residency is a series of shows by one artist in the same venue over a set period, so fans can travel to see the performer without a tour.

The episode, titled "Session 150: Lisa," was published on Oct. 28 in the United States, which is Oct. 29 in GMT. It runs 46 minutes and is listed as Season 3, Episode 45 of the show. Host Jake Shane is also set to make his Broadway debut in All Out, a stage production he is scheduled to appear in.

LISA said she felt butterflies before her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she also won Best Pop for "Dream," a track from her debut solo album, Alter Ego. The awards show has its own categories, and Best Pop is one of them.

At the same ceremony, LISA debuted her single "SaWaDiKa." The track is the lead single from her six-song EP Press Play. An EP, short for extended play, is a release with fewer tracks than a full album.

She told Billboard's podcast host that she picked the title because it is the first word people say when greeting someone in Thailand. The song debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100, the weekly US singles chart that ranks songs using sales, radio airplay and streaming figures.

The conversation also turned to Labubu dolls, the small plush figures with toothy faces that have become collectibles. Billboard reported that LISA helped turn them into a global phenomenon after she was seen in 2024 carrying one attached to a luxury handbag.

For fans, the next milestone is the first show on Nov. 12. The run of six dates gives audiences in Las Vegas a chance to hear the EP's songs live before the residency closes.
