Duckett's 167 carries England to 55-run win over Sri Lanka in Lahore

Ben Duckett hit 167 from 132 balls as England beat Sri Lanka by 55 runs in Lahore on Thursday. England scored 386-5 in their 50 overs, and Sri Lanka were bowled out for 331 in 45.1 overs, according to the BBC.
The match was part of a three-nation one-day international (ODI) tournament, where each side bats for 50 overs. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to field, so England batted first. Duckett's 167 is the highest ODI score of his career, and it follows his 105 against Pakistan, giving him two centuries in a row.
Duckett shared a 163-run opening stand with Tom Banton, who made 74. Harry Brook scored 44, Will Jacks made 30, and Jordan Cox hit 43 from just 27 balls near the end. Joe Root was not needed to bat. The Guardian's live coverage reported that the total passed the highest ODI score ever made at Gaddafi Stadium.
Sri Lanka had a fight in them. Pavan Rathnayake made 118 from 77 balls, and Kusal Mendis scored 89. Their partnership kept the chase alive well into the innings.
Then the wickets fell quickly. Liam Dawson dismissed Rathnayake in the 45th over, and Sri Lanka lost their last five wickets for just 16 runs. Dawson finished with 4 for 49, while Asitha took 2 for 63.
England had already lost their opening match to Pakistan by 87 runs at Rawalpindi, where they were 120-1 while chasing 303. The AP report on that game shows Sri Lanka winning the toss in this match too. After Sri Lanka beat Pakistan, England were out of the tournament, as Yahoo Sports reported. Dawson said England were 'gutted' after that defeat.
Sri Lanka now face Pakistan in the tri-series final on Sunday. England move on to Australia in November, where they will play three ODIs and five T20s, the short 20-over format.
