Executives from Hollywood studios and the advertising world sat down together in West Hollywood on 22 October. Amazon Ads and Variety hosted the Future of Entertainment Marketing Dinner that evening at BOA Steakhouse, according to Variety, which published the guest list on 29 October.

Amazon Ads is the advertising arm of Amazon, the company that sells ad space across its shopping and streaming services. Variety is the entertainment trade publication that covers the film, television and streaming business. Dinners of this kind bring together the people who plan advertising campaigns and the people who make and sell the films and shows those campaigns sit alongside.

Warner Bros. Entertainment's Angie Barrick and Amazon Ads' Alexys Coronel were among the guests. Universal Pictures' Candice Chen and Paramount Pictures' Brian Dailey also attended, as did Walt Disney Studios' Devin Collins.

Sony Pictures' Alex Andujar and Elane Beyrodt were on the list too, along with Warner Bros.' Elisa Chun. Variety's own representatives, Cynthia Littleton and Seth Marumoto, attended, and so did Amazon Ads' Jennie Antonakis.

The list also included Indonesian TV anchor Muthia Wirosastro. Her name sits among the studio and advertising staff, a reminder that the people working on entertainment marketing come from many countries and many kinds of media.

For the executives involved, the evening offered a chance to meet colleagues from rival companies in a relaxed setting. Studios and ad teams rarely share a table, so a dinner like this can put faces to names that usually appear only in emails and press releases.

Those names now sit in print, a week after the evening took place.
