Manchester City host Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday evening in the Women's Champions League, with kick-off at 8pm GMT. It is a league-phase match, the stage where every club plays a set group of rivals before the knockout rounds begin. For City and PSG, it is the third matchday of that phase.

City arrive after a run of draws. They played out a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid at the Joie Stadium earlier this month, and Manchester City's match report credits Bunny Shaw with the equaliser in the second half. City also drew with Bayern Munich in the competition, and before this game they had drawn with Manchester United. Shaw is one of City's forwards, the player whose job is to lead the attack and finish chances.

City have made three changes from the United game, according to the Guardian's live coverage. Grace Clinton starts, and Shaw is again in the front line. The full starting eleven also includes Yamashita, Casparij, Rose, Knaak, Greenwood, Blindkilde Brown, Hasegawa, Fujino, Hemp.

PSG have made five changes from their defeat to Lyon. Oliwia Peda starts in goal, with Chagas, Mbock, Samoura, Carmona, Morissaint, Osteras, Groenen, Karchaoui, Feller and Echegini completing the side. PSG have already beaten OH Leuven 5-0 in this competition and drawn 1-1 with Real Madrid, so they come in with a mix of results behind them.

For anyone new to the competition, the format rewards consistency. Each club's points across these early games shape who moves on, so a win or a point can carry real weight even this early. The match is also being shown live on ESPN, which lists it under game ID 401916992.

City's next Champions League game is already on the calendar. UEFA's fixture list shows them away to Inter Milan on 10 November at 12:00.

Kick-off is at 8pm GMT. The teams are on the pitch, and the stadium in Manchester is preparing for the first whistle.
