Pulisic, Rabiot and Moreira Power AC Milan Past Inter in the Milan Derby

AC Milan beat their city rivals Inter Milan 3-1 on 31 October 2026, and they did most of the damage early. All three goals came in the first half.
The Milan derby is the meeting of the two clubs from the same city, and it is one of the sharpest rivalries in Italian football. This was the first derby of the 2026/27 Serie A season, the top division in Italy. It was also a 10th-round fixture, so both sides had already played nine league games before kick-off.
The visitors wasted no time. Christian Pulisic, the American forward, scored in the fourth minute with a header. Diego Moreira, the Italian midfielder, sent the cross in from the right. Adrien Rabiot added a second in the 10th minute, and Moreira then got a third to put the game beyond Inter's reach before the break. AC Milan reported the win on its website, and the match was refereed by Guida of Torre Annunziata.
Moreira had a big afternoon. Reuters and ESPN both credited him with one goal and two assists. Assists are the passes that set up a goal, and a player who creates two in one game has had a hand in more than half of his side's scoring.
For Inter, it was a rare blow. Their defeat was their first league loss of the season, which makes it a hard afternoon for a team that had been difficult to beat in Serie A until now. Inter now have to pick themselves up quickly, because the table has no room for long sulks.
Elsewhere on the same day, Roma beat Udinese 5-2, so the Serie A table moved on at pace. For Milan, the result gives the supporters something to hold on to in a derby, which carries weight well beyond the points. Three goals in the first half of a city rivalry is the kind of start that changes how a whole week feels in the city.
