Bournemouth Beat Leeds 2-0 for Sixth Straight Win

Bournemouth extended their winning run to six matches, beating Leeds United 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. Evanilson opened the scoring and Amine Adli settled it deep into stoppage time. Both goals came after Leeds mistakes.
The first goal arrived in the 31st minute. The Guardian's match report says James Trafford sent a misplaced pass to his teammate Ao Tanaka. Justin Kluivert read it, cut in and set up Evanilson. It was Evanilson's fifth goal in six matches.
Leeds had chances to level. Dominic Calvert-Lewin thought he had scored from a James Justin cross, but the goal was ruled out. A video check by the referee team, known as VAR (video assistant referee), found the ball had rebounded off his biceps before it went in.
The second goal came late, in the 94th minute. Eli Junior Kroupi played the pass and Adli finished. Bournemouth's own match report confirmed the 2-0 scoreline at the ground.
The result adds to a run that has been hard to stop. Bournemouth have scored 16 goals without reply across the six wins, according to the Guardian's report. They had also scored inside the first eight minutes in three home games in a row. Leeds ended that pattern on Saturday, but the hosts still found a way to win.
Evanilson went off after 75 minutes. The Guardian reported that the substitution was made with Bournemouth's Europa League trip to Prague on Thursday in mind. Europa League is the second tier of European club competition, and Bournemouth will now turn their attention to that match.
For Leeds, the afternoon ended with a sense of what might have been. Their defensive errors handed Bournemouth both goals, and a disallowed effort stung just as much. For Bournemouth, the win was a reminder that a team on a long run can take a game late, and that a single moment can decide a match that was level for long spells.
