Thornhill Chooses the Bill for Melbourne's Surf's Up! Festival 2027

Thornhill will headline the Surf's Up! Festival in Melbourne on Saturday, 20 February 2027, and has also chosen the rest of the bill. Promoter Destroy All Lines announced the lineup on Monday, 2 November 2026.
The event is a one-day heavy music festival at the Riviera Beach Club in St Kilda. "Heavy music" is a loose umbrella for rock and metal styles, and this year's bill covers several of them. Billboard reports that the lineup also includes Stand Atlantic, Alpha Wolf, SACE6, Justice for the Damned, Varials, Headwreck, Bloom and Blinder.
Stand Atlantic come from Sydney and play pop-punk, a style built on catchy melodies and fast guitars. Alpha Wolf play metalcore, which mixes heavy metal with hardcore punk. SACE6 are a duo from the United States, and Varials are from Philadelphia.
The festival is the second heavy bill at the venue to be shaped by a single artist. The first, in February, was programmed by Polaris as part of the Life's A Beach series. Thornhill's edition goes a step further by letting the headliner pick the whole line-up.
Tickets go on sale in two stages. Presale tickets open on Thursday, 5 November at 10 a.m. AEDT, the Melbourne time zone in summer. General sale follows on Friday, 6 November at 11 a.m. Fans can sign up for presale access through the Destroy All Lines website, which lists ticket prices from $114.90 to $124.90. The event is 18 and over.
For fans, that gives a clear plan: sign up now, check the time for the sale they want, and set a reminder for early November. Anyone not sure of their dates has a few months to decide, with the festival taking place on 20 February.
