Aerosmith Bring Run-DMC Back for "Walk This Way" at the Hollywood Bowl

Aerosmith played the second and final California Dream On concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Sunday night, 1 November 2026, and brought Run-DMC onstage for "Walk This Way," Rolling Stone reported.
Joseph "Rev Run" Simmons and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels joined the band for the song. Founding drummer Joey Kramer also came onstage for "Walk This Way," playing alongside John Douglas.
The headline set included "Toys in the Attic," "Back in the Saddle," "Sweet Emotion" and "Dream On." The show closed with "Train Kept A-Rollin'." The band also added "Come Together," the Beatles song, to the list for this night.
The Hollywood Bowl shows were billed as "Aerosmith & Friends," and the venue listed them as two nights only, on 29 October and 1 November. The Hollywood Bowl's own listing gave the Sunday show a 6:15pm start, and the earlier one a 6:45pm start. Aerosmith's official website sold tickets and VIP packages for both dates. Billboard reported that the two October and November concerts were the band's first full concerts in three years. Heart was among the guest artists billed alongside Run-DMC, and Rolling Stone named The Black Crowes among the guests for the same two nights.
The venue has a long history of its own. The Hollywood Bowl sits in a naturally bowl-shaped dip in the Hollywood Hills, an area first known as Daisy Dell. Its beginnings date to 1919, and it seats nearly 18,000 people. The land was deeded to Los Angeles County in 1924, and the county still owns the site and runs it in partnership with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. It is both a concert venue and a public park, and it is one of the largest natural amphitheatres in the world.
Run-DMC and Aerosmith have shared this song on stage before. In January 2020 the two acts performed "Walk This Way" together at the Grammy Awards, with "Livin' on the Edge" also on that performance. Sunday's version added a second round of guests to the stage, and it closed a run that began on 29 October.
For anyone who was not in the bowl, the night was a reminder of how a long-running rock band can build a show around friends and old songs. The concert ran over two nights, and the band's own website and the venue's listings were the places fans went to buy seats.
