Festival Pass Holders Can Now Resell on CashorTrade, Capped at Face Value

Fans who bought festival passes through Front Gate Tickets can now resell them on the CashorTrade platform, but no higher than they paid. CashorTrade announced the arrangement on October 30, 2026, and Music Business Worldwide reported it on November 2.
Front Gate Tickets is the festival ticketing subsidiary of Ticketmaster, which is owned by Live Nation. The company sells passes for events including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Bourbon & Beyond, Lost Lands and Ultra Music Festival. Ticketmaster bought the Austin-based firm in 2015, alongside the do-it-yourself ticketing platform Universe. Before that, Front Gate processed more than $300 million in sales in 2014, according to Music Business Worldwide.
The resale rules work like this. A seller cannot list a pass for more than the original price. CashorTrade checks each pass directly with Front Gate, which confirms what the seller paid, including fees, using its own record of the first purchase. Once a pass sells, the buyer receives it as a new ticket inside the CashorTrade app.
The deal builds on an earlier one. Ticketmaster first linked up with CashorTrade on April 7, 2026, letting fans resell authenticated Ticketmaster concert tickets capped at their original price. Pollstar reported that expansion on the same day it was announced. The festival partnership widens the same model from arena and club shows to multi-day events.
CashorTrade, led by founder and chief executive Brando Rich, says events that offer its resale option see a 17% increase in ticket sales. The company describes the Front Gate integration as "Verified Face Value Resale" for festivals.
For a festival-goer, the change is simple to explain. If plans fall through, a pass can go to someone else without being marked up. For buyers, it means a ticket resold through the app should carry the same price the original owner paid, plus the fees they were charged.
