Statham and Ritchie Reunite for 'Dogfight' at Netflix

Netflix has announced 'Dogfight', a stylish action film set in London's criminal underworld, and it will be the seventh film Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie have made together. Variety reported the announcement on 3 November 2026.
Ritchie will write, direct and produce the film, and Statham will star. Production is due to start in early 2027, with filming in the U.K.
The pair's history goes back almost three decades. Ritchie gave Statham his first film role in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, the director's 1998 debut. Their films since then include Snatch, Revolver, Wrath of Man and Operation Fortune: Rose de Guerre. Their most recent feature together is Viva La Madness, an action thriller based on J.J. Connolly's novel and set as a sequel to Layer Cake. Its filming wrapped earlier this year. Black Bear is distributing it in North America, and Amazon MGM Studios holds rights to most international territories.
Three companies are attached to 'Dogfight': Black Bear Pictures, Toff Guy Films and Punch Palace Productions. A production company is the firm that puts a project together and pays for it. Producers named on the film include Ritchie, Statham, Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg from Black Bear.
Ritchie has also been busy on television. He created Netflix's crime series The Gentlemen, starring Theo James, which grew out of his 2019 film of the same name. He is a director and executive producer on MobLand for Paramount+, a drama with Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. He also works as a director and executive producer on Young Sherlock for Amazon Prime Video, which stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the young detective.
Statham's own résumé is wide. He has appeared in the Transporter and Fast & Furious franchises, as well as The Meg, The Beekeeper and Wrath of Man. That mix of big franchises and smaller, sharper crime films is part of why the pair's work has travelled so widely.
What stands out here is the streaming home. Dogfight joins a list of Ritchie projects spread across three services, and it is Netflix that has the film. For a director who has worked with several platforms in recent years, the move adds another buyer to the picture.
Fans of the duo will know the pattern: a London setting, a tight cast of hard men and a lot of plotting. The next step for this one is the shoot in the U.K., which is set to begin in early 2027.
