Adobe has partnered with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group to bring licensed music into Premiere mobile, its free video editing app, the company announced on 3 November 2026. "Licensed" means the two labels have given Adobe permission to let users put their recordings into videos.

Under the deals, users can add up to 60 seconds of a licensed track to a video. The tracks will be licensed for personal, non-commercial use. In plain terms, that covers videos made for private or personal sharing, not for paid work or business promotion.

Premiere mobile users will be able to browse, search and preview music by artist or track name. They can also filter it by genre and by duration, so a clip can be matched to a track of the right length. Adobe says the licensed music is coming soon, but it has not given a date.

Once a video is finished, it can be exported and posted to YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels. Music Business Worldwide reported the partnerships on the same day as Adobe's announcement.

The app is free to download on iPhone and Android. Adobe launched Premiere mobile on iPhone on 30 September 2025, more than a year before this announcement.

For anyone cutting a short video on a phone, the change means the music search now sits inside the editing app itself. Until now, many creators have had to find a track elsewhere and bring it in. For the labels, the deals place their catalogues inside a tool that millions of people use to make short clips, which is one of the main reasons record companies have been signing this kind of agreement with apps and platforms.

Adobe's blog post sets out the search and filter options and the export destinations.

No financial terms of the deals were given.
