Has the tide turned on One Nation's cartoons?

The Guardian has asked whether the tide has finally turned on One Nation's "crude and cruel" political cartoons. The question is the title of a Full Story podcast episode published on 3 November 2026. Matilda Boseley presented it, and marketing expert Toby Ralph was the guest.
The cartoons belong to Please Explain, a One Nation series first launched in 2021. By November 2026 it had produced four seasons and a movie. One Nation describes it as Australia's most beloved weekly political cartoon and says new episodes are released every week.
The criticism has centred on several episodes. In October, a cartoon mocking Jacqui Lambie drew support for Lambie from the Prime Minister, the Coalition and the crossbench, the group of MPs and senators who sit outside the major parties. Pauline Hanson said Lambie should "get over it" and described the cartoon as "satirical".
On 20 October, Hanson said the cartoon mocking Lambie "needs to be reined in", and the video was changed. The Guardian reported the change that day.
On 27 October, Labor accused Hanson of stoking division and violence in cartoons showing attacks on foreign affairs minister Penny Wong.
A colouring book was handed to children at an agricultural show amid criticism of One Nation's use of Bluey in a Please Explain video, according to The Guardian.
