Josiah Queen's 'Damascus Road' Debuts at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums

Josiah Queen's new album, Damascus Road, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart, Billboard reported on 4 November 2026.
The 14-track album earned 27,000 equivalent album units in its first week, 23 to 29 October, according to Luminate, the company that tracks sales and streams for Billboard. Equivalent album units are a way of counting streams as album sales: a set number of plays is converted into the value of one album. That first-week figure is the strongest for a Top Christian Albums debut since Brandon Lake's King of Hearts opened with 37,000 units in June 2025, Billboard said.
The album also reached the wider market. It opened at No. 16 on the Billboard 200, the main all-genre album chart, and at No. 4 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart. Billboard counts it as the top debut for a Christian album on the Billboard 200 so far in 2026.
Queen is 23. Damascus Road is his third studio album in three years, after The Prodigal in 2024 and Mt. Zion in 2025. All three debuted at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums. Billboard says he is the first act to post chart-topping debuts on that chart in three consecutive years since it adopted its current method of counting in February 2017.
Eight of the album's 14 tracks debuted on the Hot Christian Songs chart. Earlier single "Demons" spent two weeks at No. 1 on that chart. "Dusty Bibles," from Mt. Zion, became Queen's first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, the main singles chart, in November 2025. It went on to win song of the year at the GMA Dove Awards in October 2026.
Queen had set the release date in a Facebook post on 14 October, saying the album would arrive on 23 October. The post also named "Fire in My Soul" as one of its songs.
Touring comes next. Billboard reports that Queen will open his first headlining arena tour on 8 April 2027, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. MusicRow describes the tour as 18 cities, beginning on 8 April, and calls it his biggest headline run to date.
Chart positions are a count of sales and streams, but each unit stands for someone who chose to play or buy the record in a single week. For a tour, the same listeners become ticket buyers, and the venues, crews and local businesses along the route become part of the story. The tour dates are the next thing to watch.
